We all love a throwback and remembering “the good old days” and Zoella was clearly feeling nostalgic recently when she uncovered and revealed a bunch of photos of her and her blogging pals from way back when. Yup, believe it or not there was a time when Zoe wasn’t on YouTube and just had her blog as her hobby.
As bloggers gained more and more respect, they were invited to brand events which was a huge deal back in the day. And before the days of Whatsapp and Snapchat, bloggers and early-adapter YouTubers captured everything with a digital camera which they then uploaded to Blogspot and Facebook. True story.
We’re sharing Zoe’s tweets with her amazing throwback pics and we’ve also found a bunch from her blog and social media that will give you all the feels.

Way back in 2010, Maybelline hosted an event for beauty bloggers and it was Zoe’s first time meeting Anna Saccone Joly! We love this snap of Zoe with fellow YouTuber Shirley B Eniang.
In 2011, Zoe was lucky enough to ride the London Eye with Glossybox and several blogging/YouTube friends including Louise, Gracie Franchesca and Samantha Maria- we won’t lie, this photo makes us feel way old!
2011 was also the year Zoe and chummy Louise went along to an Illamasqua event.
And moving onto 2012, Zoe met someone that would change her life forever. You guessed it, it was the year Zoe met Alfie and this is one of their very first photos together!
Zoe also shared this photo of herself and Joe in 2012- obviously she’d known him a lot longer!
2012 was the year a lot of vloggers really started pushing through and becoming names on everyone’s lips. At a rooftop party at YouTube HQ, Zoe hung out with Louise (of course), Patricia Bright, Samantha Maria, Fleur de Force and Shirley B Eniang, establishing themselves even further as the elite in women’s lifestyle creators on YouTube.
We’ve loved having a good old throwback at Zoella’s pics (you can find them all on her blog). If this article has made you feel old AF, we apologise and suggest you take a break from the Internet and finish off your knitting.
