We The Unicorns are no stranger to reporting on YouTuber’s doing amazing things for charity. With John Green travelling all the way to Jordan to report on vital fundraising and PewDiePie doing his annual live-stream for Charity: Water, it’s hardly unthinkable to associate YouTubers with phenomenal acts of philanthropy. And now, in May 2016, more YouTubers will be raising money… by playing football.
Announced today, Marcus Butler, Jim Chapman, John Chapman and Leon Busty will be joining an A-list line-up of traditional media celebrities and ex-football players to raise money for the Community Sports Foundations at Norwich City Football Club; “The event features stars of TV, music, film and sport, as well as several ex-Canaries, and tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday March 10th from the Norwich City ticket office”.
So if you feel like giving to charity and watching your YouTube faves kick a football about, here’s all the info you need.
As team captain, Jim Chapman will be joined by Calum Best to lead the two football teams in a full-on and exciting match of charity football. Regarding the line-up, “all the celebrities give up their time for free to appear at Jamie’s Game. However, due to work and film commitments, our celebrity squad is subject to availability”, but so far the following celebs have all confirmed their appearance at the match:
“Calum Best, James Hill, Ben Hardy, Dan Osborne, Pete Wicks, Max Morley, Joshua Ritchie, James Graham, Che Chesterman, Dean Edwards, Dean Ashton, Ruel Fox, Darren Eadie, Jeff Brazier, Dane Bowers, Jimmy Constable, Jake Wood, Shayne Ward, Stevi Ritchie, Jay James, Jamie Borthwick, Dean Gaffney, Tubes, Harvey, Terry Alderton, Gavin Ramjaun”
The match kicks-off on Sunday the 22nd of May, with adult tickets costing £10 and under-17 tickets costing only £2 from the official Norwich City website. There are also ‘Hospitality’ packages available that offer Match Day Box seating and the chance to take part in a meet ‘n’ greet experience with the celebrities playing. In their fourth annual year of Jamie’s Game, “the event has raised over £200,000 for the Community Sports Foundation in total, and is run in partnership with former Canary Darran Eadie’s events and auction company, Sellebrity”.
We have no idea what position Marcus and Co will be playing in or if they will be any good AT ALL, but lets all just use this opportunity to laugh at both Marcus and Alfie trying to play Fifa tonight a year ago.
