It’s not unusual to see YouTubers venture off on new career paths; with Tanya Burr now an ambassador for the UN Global Goals and Joe Sugg becoming the author of a series of graphic novels, these vloggers are now expanding their brands into much more than just the Internet. But now it’s the turn of Bethany Mota, the incredibly successful American beauty vlogger, who has announced something extremely exciting.
The YouTuber, who now has over ten million subscribers, has decided to follow in the footsteps of Troye Sivan and surprise us all with the news of her upcoming pop career after an interview with ‘Billboard’. This hasn’t come as much of a shock to her followers, as she has been hinting at her love for singing on her channel for quite a while with the occasional music cover. Last year she even uploaded a video of herself singing one of her original acoustic songs, ‘Be Who You Want To Be’, which has so far seen almost four million views.
However, her first step into the music world actually came from her debut pop music video back in February last year. She recorded with the Canadian producer/singer Mike Tompkins on a track called ‘Need You Right Now’ which has also hit almost four million views. In her interview with ‘Billboard’, Mota has now described her solo music as “kind of pop with a little bit of an edge” and that she really can’t wait to share it, stating: “I feel really passionate about it. Whenever I feel passionate about something, I just want to blurt it to the world.”
The ‘Billboard’ interview also revealed that Bethany is hoping for her new music to be released before the end of the year and we just can’t to get our hands on it. We’re predicting a successful music career for the Internet star who already has an incredibly loyal fan base that most pop artists would die for. We shall keep you updated on Bethany’s musical adventures and in the meantime, let us know what you think in the comments.
