A beauty vlogger has been dominating headlines after posting a short Instagram video showing her rubbing onions into her eyebrows. Yup, you rea that right. Is this the next beauty fad? Or is there actual scientific proof that onion juice will boost the growth of eyebrow hair?
Farah Dhukai posted the bizarre video for all 415k followers to see. The video has caused a huge controversy in the media and amongst her fans, with many concerned about the smell afterwards. If you haven’t seen the video, watch it below:
Farah says that onions contains sulphur, this improves the production of collagen tissues and therefore hair growth. Apparently you’ll be able to see a difference in a a few weeks if rubbed all over both eyebrows once a day. The instructions tell you to cut the onion into slices and then take a fork prodding until the onion produces juice. Use a cotton pad to pick up the “juice” and then massage into your brows for five minutes. Once your brows are completely dry you can wash them with cold water or a mild cleanser.
However, many are not convinced and took to the comments to voice their disgust at the idea of such methods. One fan commented: ‘Nah will probably just make your eyes water and make your face smell weird’. While another says ‘What a waste of an onion!’.
This isn’t the first time Farah has used unconventional methods in her beauty routine. One of her most recent videos demonstrates how to make your own DIY Hair Mask at home using something we’d normally prefer to have for breakfast…
We’re not sure how convinced we are here at We The Unicorns but who knows, maybe we’ll give it a try! Tell us if you think you’d give the onion challenge a go in the comments below.
