You’ll know by now that beauty is my bag- I’ve spent a decent chunk of my career writing about beauty and an even bigger chunk hoarding beauty products. So when I spotted that the lovely Lily Pebbles and Vivianna Does MakeUp were hitting the road and taking their beauty chat videos into the real world, I made sure I snapped up a ticket quicker than you can say “We The Unicorns”.
The event was designed as a chance for Lily and Anna to meet fans, talk all things make-up and skincare and have a little pampering session.
Of course, I managed to snap everything for those of you who couldn’t be there and even got a selfie with the girls themselves! Here’s what went down.
Prosecco corks popped as we entered the gorgeous Urban Oasis at Westfield and took our seats at tables stacked high with mini cakes and yummy canapés.

Obviously I indulged.
Once I’d Tweeted my excitement at said biscuits, it was time to kick off the talk.
Lily and Anna were exactly as they come across on screen- two passionate, intelligent and very funny ladies. What should have felt like a slightly formal affair felt more like catching up with two old friends which is rare as YouTubers reach mainstream media celebrity status.
Chatting about everything from the products they disagree on to their upcoming weddings and the best places to visit in Brighton, I came away from the event with a beauty wish list longer than the Thames and some top tips.
After the Q&A, we were spoilt to treatments from Clarins and a chance to chat to the girls and get that all important selfie. The revitalising mini massage was the perfect chance to unwind and the pick and mix section was a beauty addict’s dream come true with tubs piled high of mini versions of Clarins iconic products to take home.
I’m in the lucky position where I’ve met the girls several times so it was great to have a catch-up, congratulate Anna in person on her engagement and discuss my bold lip situation (it’s “Ping Pong” by Bourjois for anyone wondering).
What was so amazing about the event was seeing a room filled with intelligent, beautiful women of all ages getting together and sharing their passion all thanks to YouTube.
When you reach your mid-twenties, you naturally grow out of a lot of the beauty gurus you loved before who tend to cater to a young tween audience. Whilst that’s completely fine and you can still appreciate them, there’s a genuine gap for more beauty and lifestyle YouTubers to suit those of us who are nearing thirty and beyond. Lily and Anna have constantly grown with their audience and appeal to everyone from age 13 to 93- their friendliness, charm, passion and knowledge is timeless and I’m so thankful I got to experience that first hand at Beauty Chat Live.
Huge thanks to Lily and Anna! PS/ Don’t you think we’d make an awesome girl band?!
