6 YouTube Movie Parodies That Put Hollywood To Shame
11 November 2015, 13:12
If there's one thing YouTube is good at, it's parodies. From Apple commercials to political speeches there is absolutely nothing that YouTubers won't jokingly imitate. One of the most popular targets for parody are movies. The videos produced are loving rip-offs of the films we love, and love to hate. Here is a selection of the best:
1. Step Up! Trailer Parody - Crabstickz
Chris 'Crabstickz' Kendall asks the questions we all have about the Step Up movies, like: "What does 'Step Up' even mean?" And "these films are all just the same, aren't they?" His video is not only hilariously funny and brilliantly acted, it's also really well made:
2. How It Should Have Ended - Titanic
Honestly, we could do an entire list of just great HISHE videos (and probably will, let's be honest), so it was dang hard to pick just one for this list. We went with Titanic because of how much people love it and love to pick holes in it. HE COULD HAVE FIT ON THE DOOR, MAN:
3. Lucy (Parody Trailer) NigaHiga
Ryan Higa takes on Scarlett Johansson's delightfully ridiculous action film 'Lucy' with an even wackier parody:
4. Captain America Parody - Rooster Teeth
The Rooster Teeth gang like to ask the important questions, like: 'What is the meaning of life?', 'Can you measure love?' And 'what if turning someone into a super-soldier shrunk their penis?'
5. Trailer For Every Oscar-Winning Movie Ever - BriTANick
This is the cleverest comedy video you will ever watch ... we don't even have a joke to make, it's just true:
6. If Movies Were Real - Smosh
Rounding off our list is not one, but nine movie parodies, courtesy of our old* friends Smosh. They cover a whole bunch of our favourites and lovingly highlight how they don't make a lick of sense.
