“Self care” is a term you might have seen being used in YouTube videos, on social media and in articles. Self care has quickly become the thing we’re all trying to achieve and making space for on our ever-growing to do lists. But rather than being a bit of a fad, self care is a concept which makes time for you and your mental health and encourages you to, well, take care of yourself.
It sounds so easy, right? But when you’re drowning in studies and/or work, seeing friends, family duties and not to mention the mundane stuff in life like cleaning and life admin then looking after ourselves becomes last on the list. Practising self care isn’t about going on a shopping spree (but it could be) or doing something that takes up a whole lot of time- a relaxing shower, your favourite chocolate bar or a walk at lunch time are amazing examples of self care.
