Earlier today, Anna Saccone-Joly posted some incredibly sad news on Snapchat that confirmed the worst possible fears inside every expectant mothers head – she had suffered a miscarriage. After a snap of her and her husband Jonathan sat in the hospital waiting room, she followed with an emoji-clad picture of a “Copying With Early Pregnancy Loss” pamphlet. Ever since this went live, the Internet responded by trending worldwide #StayStrongSacconeJolys.
Anna has since been on Snapchat to update the situation and explain to her fans that she is okay. She addresses some fans confusion about why she’s not crying or emotional following the news, by saying that she has been fully prepared for this for over two weeks because she “knew something was wrong a long time ago”. Anna says she started the grieving process after she started bleeding and not feeling the way she remembered from her full-term pregnancies with Emelia and Eduardo.
She grieved in private with her family as she felt it made her more prepared for the doctors final scan this morning following another bleed. She says that she’s “glad that it happened when it did instead of further along in the pregnancy”. Anna also mentions that the “baby was only 6mm in size” when it happened and “it stopped growing around the 6 week mark”. Everything seemed fine as she was still going through regular pregnancy symptoms.
The most upsetting part of the story is that Anna was going through the grieving process during her trip to Florida with Jonathan to pick up their Shorty Award for Parenting. She says that she “didn’t want to tell anybody about it because I didn’t feel like it was anybodies business”, hence why we have found out today after the news of the miscarriage had been confirmed. Anna will be offline for a “little while” as she recovers and goes through an operation.
