We the Unicorns

For the second year in a row, the White House is opening its doors to some of our faves!

Regardless on your political stance, you can't deny: The US has one of the coolest Presidents ever right now. For the past few years, Barack Obama has opened up the days following his State Of The Union address to the internet; beginning with livestreaming the whole thing on YouTube and culminating in an awesome three-part interview last year with YouTubers Hank Green, GloZell Green and Bethany Mota.

This year, much to the fury of his conservative critics, The White House plans to repeat the event; and three online creators will sit down with the President for a live, face-to-face interview after the State Of The Union this week.

But who are the lucky three this year? And why do they get to do what so many media outlets can only dream of? Not to worry - We've got the who, what and why for those of you who might be confused:

Ingrid Nilsen

Who: MissGlamorazzi (3.9 million subscribers)

What: Beauty, Lifestyle, LGBT+

Why: After coming out as gay in early 2015, lifestyle entrepreneur Ingrid has become a source of inspiration for the thousands of LGBT+ youth who watch her videos. Ingrid has plans to ask about everything from LGBT+ issues and gender equality, to unemployment.

Destin Sandlin

Who: Smarter Every Day (3.5 million subscribers)

What: Science, Education, Awesomeness

Why: Destin's whole MO on his channel is to educate and inspire, so we can expect a lot of discussion on the US government's plans to improve the state of education in the country. Destin is mostly looking for suggestions of "science" and "fun" questions from his audience, so this won't be one to miss!

sWooZie

Who: sWooZie (3.7 million subscribers)

What: Animation, Comedy, Vlogs

Why: One of the weirdest things to come from the build-up to last year's interviews was that the media could not stop focusing on GloZell's "Cereal Bath Challenge" video, using it as a reason to criticise the legitimacy of the whole event. But despite the weirdness of her content, GloZell shone in her interview, giving herself and YouTube creators a lot more credit for their work. Given that sWooZie's regular content includes a lot of informal anecdotes, lewd animation and crude humour, we can expect him to be this year's wildcard that leaves everyone surprised and impressed.

The State of the Union will be live on the White House's YouTube channel tonight, and the YouTube Interview will follow on Friday. Be sure to tune in!
