After travelling about on his busy duties, it looks like Jack Gilinsky dropped into an airport boutique to check out some clothes – but specifically, he liked the look of a red sweatshirt. What he didn’t realise was that this brief encounter with a meaningless sweatshirt would result in him being arrested, hand-cuffed in public and sent off to jail… tough luck!
The whole situation was documented by BFF Jack Johnson on his Snapchat story, which honestly was lit. Starting from the moment Jack G is showing off his allegedly “stolen” sweatshirt to the Police to the moment Jack J posts his $5,000 bail and gets him out of jail, this has to be the funniest way to react to your best friend being arrested. You can see the whole story below:
For those out of the loop, here’s what happened thanks to Jack J’s very well documented Snapchat story;
“So I did not actually expect these guys to take Gilinsky away. Like he accidentally just stole this sweatshirt like, completely accident. Instantly turned around and offered to pay it off and the manager still wanted him to go to jail. No, this is not a joke, like at all. It’s not a prank. I got all G’s bags with me right now. They made me take his bags and I’m waiting for my Uber to go bail him out right now actually.”
Later on in the video, Jack J can be seen throwing pine cones at the Los Angeles Police Department and chanting “FREE GILINSKY”, which later sparked the popular Twitter trend, #FreeGilinsky. Long story short, Johnson paid Gilinsky’s $5,000 bail and set him free but Jack G is still due to appear in court again on October 14th for his Misdemeanors.
