Beauty YouTuber James Charles has once again threatened to quit social media after receiving backlash over his reviews of both Rihanna's Fenty Beauty range and the new horror film, It.

James found himself on the wrong end of a social media dragging led by none other than Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard after he tweeted a negative review of It while watching it in the cinema: “Ok 5 mins in and IT is already awful stay tuned for updates,” he wrote, to which Finn replied, "Why are you on your phone in the movie theatre? Rule 1."

But that wasn't the only social media drama to hit James Charles this week.

James' review of Rihanna's new makeup range also drew ire from the internet, with many claiming he didn't really know what he was doing, after he used what many believed to be the wrong shade of foundation during his review and using the wrong sponges to apply the makeup.

Here are some of the criticisms he received.

Clearly this was the straw that broke the camel's back, because after receiving criticism for his review James Charles went on the mother of all social media rants.

"Ya'll (sic) are so fucking annoying," he wrote after claiming he was "done" with reviewing makeup. He continued, "If we like a product then we're 'being paid' and if we don't then we're 'hating'."

He went on to say, "my job isn't fun anymore, the internet is the meanest and saddest people in the world grouped together to hate on one another it's so tiring." And on livestream, he said he was considering quitting social media.

At the time of publishing, James is still very much on the internet.
