YouTuber James Kingston has been arrested in Dubai for filming himself pulling off a series of daredevil climbing stunts. Here’s how James tweeted to his fanbase that he had been arrested: “I have been arrested by the CID here in Dubai. Four undercover agents plucked me from my hotel room earlier today with no warning”.
Well, Mr James Kingston, we imagine there was some warning or inclination as to why they would want to arrest you…
His arrest followed a video James posted on YouTube called ‘The Craziest Thing I’ve Ever Done” in which he filmed himself … ah jeez … in which he filmed himself climbing a freaking crane. What was apparently specifically contentious about this video was that explained step-by-step how he had pulled off the feat, which opened the door for people to imitate him.
We don’t know what kind of people actually would copy this sorta stuff but hey, you can never be too careful. Here is his first video of the stunt itself:
And now take a look at a POV explainer video of the free-climbing stunt that landed this YouTuber in trouble with Dubai police. James has since been released by the police and has been given no punishment, but he has received a written warning not to perform such stunts again. Presumably
if he does (sorry) when he inevitably does, then that is when the police will come down hard on him.
