YouTube is a massively popular space for every single person on the planet, be you a small creator, MLG Gaming pro or even… a late night TV show host? We’ve recently celebrated James Corden and his YouTube-Record smashing Adele videos, and we’ve seen the likes of PewDiePie honour Conan O’Brien with their appearance, but there’s another host that’s making big waves all by himself, Jimmy Fallon!
On Monday the 22nd of February, Jimmy’s YouTube channel finally hit 10 million subscribers, making him the most subscribed late show host in YouTube’s history. As well as holding that accolade over the other envious late show hosts, he is now one of the gifted few people on this planet to own the magnificent diamond play button, which apparently is “surprisingly heavy”.
In comparison to Jimmy Fallon, no other late night host comes close to his achievement; Jimmy Kimmel has 7 million even though his channel is only a couple months younger than Fallon’s, Stephen Colbert has only managed to attract 900k subscribers over the last 10 months, and James Corden only has 4 million subscribers mostly thanks to his viral successful series Carpool Karaoke. In fact, as Jimmy says himself, “we were the first late night show in the world to hit this”.
As well as YouTube success, Jimmy Fallon’s social media reach has been growing exponentially with output across Snapchat, Periscope and Meerkat in addition to his 900 million Facebook video views in the last year alone. However it was only recently that Jimmy’s channel began monetisation and pre-roll ads after it was estimated by OpenSlate back in March 2015 that they were missing out on approximately $12 million dollars annually from his YouTube videos.
Before wearing the diamond play button as a belt and galloping off the screen, Jimmy Fallon sends his appreciation to all his fans both offline and online; “I want to thank everyone for watching our videos in the US and around the world”. If you’re curious as to what video could possibly be the most viewed upload on the most subscribed late night hosts YouTube channel, then wonder no more. The following video has nearly 70 million views and features Emma Stone lip-syncing to DJ Khaled. No matter Jimmy’s channel is doing so well…
