As you’ve probably heard, rapper and singer Azealia Banks want somewhat insane recently and went on a prolonged Twitter tirade which offended basically everyone and ended with her getting banned from Twitter, dropped as the headliner of an upcoming festival and being investigated by the British Home Office about possibly being forbidden from entering the UK – nice work, Banks. Among the many nasty things that Azealia said in her endless stream of hateful consciousness was many highly offensive things about both South Asian and Middle Eastern people (who she sort of rolled into one big group), in her big to attack Zayn Malik for no particular reason.
Jus, a beloved Vine and YouTube star and someone who has always openly celebrated his culture and heritage, responded to Azealia in the most perfect way – but responding to her hysteria calmly, rationally and proudly. Jus Also Highlighted Azealia’s Hypocrisy in insulting Asian cultures yet also wearing traditional Asian items in her videos:
Jus Then Turned The Hatred Into Empowerment
Jus then took the phrase ‘curry scented bitch’ that Azealia had used and used it as a statement of empowerment for South Asian women. Soon the hashtag #curryscentedbitch was trending, with women using it as a chance to celebrate who they are without shame:
Shoutout to Jus for not letting hatred and prejudice go by unchallenged. We already love him because we think he’s one of the funniest people on Vine – but this just makes us love him even more.
