It's McConaughey, but not like you've seen him before.
When Matthew McConaughey isn’t busy being a Hollywood heart-throb or repeating his signature catchphrase ‘alright, alright, alright’, he's using his free time to ... do exactly those things - but, inside the four borders of a YouTube video. And apparently, he's not the only A-List celebrity using the platform to express himself, but that's for another conversation.
One would have thought that as an Academy Award-winning actor, you would be guaranteed a one-way ticket to vlogging superstardom, yet it appears that this hasn’t been the case for Matthew McConaughey. Up until his channel was revealed this month, only a few hundred subscribers knew of Matthew’s personal channel despite it being both verified and two years old; the Internet certainly can be a puzzling place at times.
His movies may have been breakout box office successes, but his YouTube videos? Well, let's just say the term ‘internet sensation’ won’t be added to his IMDb anytime soon - in fact, thanks to all the media attention, he's only just reached 72k subscribers. But we believe that will hit the BILLIONS in no time. It's Matthew for christ's sake, of course it will!
Unfortunately, make up tips and details of his day-to-day antics sadly won’t be found on McConaughey's channel. Instead he keeps it casual and draws attention to charitable causes such as the ‘Just Keep Livin’ foundation which helps provide tools to high school students so they may lead active lives.
Matthew McConaughey can only be applauded for using YouTube as a platform to raise awareness, but this still leaves us with the question; just how many other celebrity YouTube channels are out there, waiting to be discovered? We'll do some research, and get back to you on that one.
