Following on from their sold out and hugely successful 2015 world tour On My Way Home, Pentatonix have just embarked on the second leg of their tour meaning that last night London was blessed with their enchanting acapella sound. Even though these gigs were their first headline shows since last year, clearly they absolutely smashed it because fans have been going crazy on Twitter with praise.
The tickets, which went on sale back on March 4th, sees Pentatonix play at three iconic UK venues; the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, the O2 Academy in Birmingham, and finally the O2 Academy in London. Each date is supported by Vine sensations and musical wizards Us The Duo, who have risen to popularity over the past 12 months thanks to their charming and six second recreations of popular tracks.
Fresh from their recent GRAMMY’s win for the ‘Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy’, Pentatonix were on top form as they were able to perform to a room of 5,000 people using nothing more than their voices. The group, which sees members Avi Kaplan, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Mitch Grassi perform heart-stopping covers of songs using ONLY their voices, will be continuing their world tour until June 26th where they stop in Portugal for a break… lucky!
The group will be kickstarting the final leg of their tour back off again in October when they head back to the US with Us The Duo to perform in front of a huge line up of cities including Houston, Philadelphia and Memphis. But don’t just listen to our opinion of the gig, check out some of the reviews flooding in on Twitter from fans after Pentatonix absolutely lifted the roof in London last night.
Also, Pentatonix SUPERFAN Ramon Sanchez sent us these pictures to us via Facebook from the incredible night – just look how close he got! We’re mega jealous.
