“This is about my privacy!”

For the second time this month, one of the most popular social media stars on the Internet has begged fans to stop coming to their house in an attempt to meet their favourite YouTuber – and as you probably know, PewDiePie isn’t just any old YouTuber. With over 47 million Bro’s in his subscriber army, it meant that when Felix took to his channel to chastise fans for hunting down his address and turning up uninvited, everybody stopped and listened.

In a short and honest video, PewDiePie reveals that “Since [he] started YouTube, [he’s] lived in 6 different locations and [he’s] had fans come up to each and every one of them… it’s so f*cking weird”.

It’s unclear at the moment whether fans have tracked down Pewds at his filming house or the home he shares with Marzia, but we totally agree that for fans to invite themselves over to a YouTuber’s house isn’t cool. Just stop guys.

Felix continues; “Just because I have an audience, it doesn’t mean I have to be OK with bad behaviour. Don’t get me wrong, I love meeting you Bros. 99% of the time it’s an amazing experience… but if you do come to my house, I will not greet you and I will not take a picture with you.” His message seems to be resonating with other creators as the likes of KickThePJ, Ali-A and Alfie Deyes are sharing his message to their own audiences.

And before anybody can jump to conclusions about the types of people arriving unannounced to Felix’s home, he clarifies that he’s had “School classes… and even parents coming over with their kids” – surely these should be the type of people actively teaching children never to act in this way with a strangers house?!

Hopefully this video will act as a reminder to all YouTube fans as Felix feels like he’s “saying what should be obvious”, but just in case, we’ll say it one more time… Don’t hunt down the address of a YouTuber and turn up on their front door step shouting for autographs. You do not deserve them.
