So it takes a lot for a YouTuber to admit they’re burning out; but when you post videos as frequently as PewDiePie, eventually you need to get real. And in a recent update from Pewds, we get to see a refreshing level of transparency; around the same time as the arrival of a big update to everyone’s favourite YouTube-adjacent app, ‘Tuber Simulator’.
Pewds uploaded the video titled ‘Tired of trying…’ on Monday.
After moving out of his iconic office and taking some time off to be sick, Felix discusses the relief of breaking his routine.
“I’m a very routine-driven person; I have a strict way I do videos every day,” admits Felix. “Now I don’t have an office and I’m taken out of my routine, I’m just like, fuck it, I don’t wanna do any of that shit anymore.”
“If I’m sick, I’m just gonna be sick; I’m not gonna force myself to upload.”
Pewds assures his audience he isn’t tired of “making videos”.
While his focus will still be on content that will do well, he admits that if there’s a video he wants to make, then it will be made; citing his run on ‘PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ as an example.
“Can that be an entertaining video? Probably not; but I really felt like playing the game.”
But ultimately, his motivation for what to make lies not in statistics, but engagement from his viewers; which is why he has also announced a new “green screen competition” for his viewers to meme the crap out of him with a very exploitable video clip.
PewDiePie’s update comes alongside a new update to his mobile game, ‘Tuber Simulator’.
Nearly 9 months after the game’s initial release under Outerminds and the now defunct Revelmode, Pewds’ bespoke app has seen a lot of fun and weird new updates that reflect the “big YouTuber” experience. But the latest will make you massive – literally. It’s tiny cities.
