It’s Summer In The City this weekend and holy crap we’re so pumped up to meet YouTubers, readers and basically anyone that will let us grab a selfie with them. So you can imagine our feels when we saw this lucky Selena Gomez fan having all her meet and greet dreams come true in one hot second when her idol waltzed right into her bedroom!
In a cheeky prank set up by the hosts of KIIS 1065 radio over in Australia, Sophie Saunders was contacted to be part of a promotional video advertising the fact that Selena was currently on her Revival tour across the country. Sophie, who was also following Miss Gomez on her travels, leapt at the chance to star on the radio as Selena’s biggest fan, but what she didn’t know was that the whole feature had been set up to surprise her with a one-on-one sesh with her fave.
At one point, Sophie is asked to film herself singing along to one of her favourite songs after being promised that the clip would be sent to Selena. She quickly starts jamming along to Kill ‘Em With Kindness, totally unaware that Selena was creeping into her bedroom right behind her. And then you have that beautiful moment when realisation hits Sophie and she’s totally overcome with emotion – we couldn’t stop screaming!
After grabbing a million pictures with her Queen, Sophie says that she “can’t believe that happened… I can’t believe that she took the time to come and see me”. But the most amazing part of the story happens later on when Sophie goes to another Revival show and meets Selena one more time. In front of all the other fans waiting to grab photos with the singer, Gomez shouts across to Sophie that she remembers who she was! What an amazing moment – congrats Sophie!
