All This Vegan Drama Is Seriously Getting Out Of Hand Now
20 June 2016, 11:22
Honestly, we can't believe this is still happening.
In the past, we've written about Vegan YouTubers attacking Nicole Arbour, the banana emoji and even themselves. But now, thanks to a new YouTuber you'll be forgiven for not knowing, someone is trying to literally rank people online for being the "dumbest vegans on YouTube". Whilst we don't totally agree with his phrasing, we must admit that it's nice to see someone calling out the likes of Sorsha Morava and Freelee the Banana Girl for their downright horrifying videos.
The new kid on the block, who currently has only 15,000 subscribers at the time of writing, goes by the online alias TheVeganCheetah - but we also know him as Charles Marlowe. Most of his videos consist of loud rants aimed towards popular YouTube vegans such as Freelee and her partner Harley 'Durianrider' Johnstone, but he now seems to be branching out into somewhat of a critic role by attacking a digital community he's trying desperately hard to belong to. Don't worry, we don't understand either.
First up on the "dumb vegans" list is Sorsha Morava, an American vlogger with the undeniable skill to make me feel uncomfortable, with a video that has gained Cheetah over 101k views at the time of writing. His video is a reaction to Sorsha's reaction to Nicole Arbour's reaction to vegans in general... because apparently we needed even more people to weigh in on this mess. The best part is that Cheetah claims without a single HINT of irony that Sorsha "likes to do reaction videos and most of her videos involve somebody else's name or some kind of drama" which is pretty much 100% what Cheetah is doing at that very second, so yeah.
While he does make some solid points about Sorsha's inability to respond correctly to Nicole's taunts, asking Sorsha if "this is best most important use of her time", his overall stance on vegan YouTubers is surprisingly progressive - especially if you look at the community he's in. Towards the middle of the video, Cheetah points out that "vegan YouTubers are EXTREMELY annoying and have been for some time now... you look at Sorsha's channel and all she does is call out other people's YouTube channels", hence why he then goes on to label her one of the "dumbest vegans on YouTube". He also calls her a "classic Freelee/Durianrider d*ckriding clone", but honestly don't know how to respond to that.
Next up on Cheetah's hit list is the now infamous YouTube vegan (why is this even a phrase), Freelee the Banana Girl. This video is soaring in popularity, with it currently standing at around 40k views at the time of writing, as Freelee propels herself into the role of "dumbest vegan on YouTube" with or without Cheetah's help. However, if you don't know anything about this YouTuber, here's what Cheetah had to say about her role on YouTube; she's a "lunatic, militant vegan" promoting a "bullshit permanent vacation lifestyle". Oh, and she's literally the worst thing in the world for your children.
Cheetah shares a clip in his video which shows Freelee actively telling a young girl to "contact the authorities" if her parents try to force-feed her animal products against her will, and even goes so far as to "guilt trip" the girl by saying that "if you want to put death and torture into your mouth, then that's your choice". Cheetah becomes so enraged by Freelee's inability to recognise that people on this planet may not have the luxury to refuse food from their parents or go out to purchase vegan-safe food items, saying that because she is actively telling children to "disobey their parents", it proves that she is living "in a f*cing fantasy world... you're f*cking stupid".
We honestly don't know what's happening in the YouTube vegan community right now, or how long this strange war of the words will go on for, but you know 100% that we're gonna cover every single stupid second of it all because honestly, it's kinda fun. If you want to see what the rest of YouTube has been up to regardless of whether they eat meat or not, remember to check out our weekly episodes of SLAY or NAY, which we've lovingly shared for you below. Let us know what you think about all his vegan drama below, and we may even write a post about your thoughts!
