Conservative pundit and queen of facts Tomi Lahren has posted a response to Shane Dawson’s accusations, that she had him and his boyfriend Ryland thrown out of a party for not being straight.
Responding to her own audience on Facebook, Lahren offered a different side to what she referred to as the “fake news” (because we all know how legit that phrase is); and claimed Shane and Ryland showed up to the Remind The Nation event to “instigate and make a spectacle”.
Lahren claims in her response to Shane that two men “jumped in front of her and started kissing” when they posed for a photo with her.
Read Lahren’s statement in full below:
Let’s talk about this fake news circulating tonight by Shane Dawson. I hosted an event called “Remind the Nation” at the Sundance Film Festival. The event showcased the amazing work of Zero Film Productions and The Veteran’s Project, among other veteran organizations. It was a celebration of the service and sacrifice made by our veterans and active duty service members. I was taking photos after the film screening when two gentlemen approached me for a photo. I was happy to do it. I put my arms around them when all of the sudden they jumped in front on me and started kissing. They were not there to support the event. They were not there to take a photo with me. They were there to instigate and make a spectacle to advance whatever political message they placed above common courtesy for our veteran event. These are the tricks of the Left. Designed to instigate and make a scene. It’s sad they choose to play the game and make a scene when I welcomed them to take a photo with me. Security escorted them out because they were causing a scene at our private event. Go ahead and spread your fake news. It’s sad you stand on such flimsy moral ground you have to create a fake story for attention. Though you tried to detract from the night, you failed. The unloving and intolerant Left strikes again but whatever you were trying to do didn’t work. The Left has become so desperate for validation they resort to instigation, planned stunts and outright lies to remain relevant and garner attention. Sad. Anyone who knows me knows I am a social moderate and have always welcomed the LGBT community to my show. The dialogue has always been open to you as it is to anyone I may disagree with or differ from. It’s sad you didn’t take the opportunity to engage in a meaningful conversation but rather tried to disrupt and derail an event for veterans and service members. God bless our veterans and those who support and honor them. Those there know what happened. God knows what happened. If you had an ounce of dignity you wouldn’t drum up a fake story for attention. Praying for you.
“They were not there to support the event or to take a photo with me,” Lahren claims in her post. “They were there to instigate and make a spectacle to advance whatever political message they placed above common courtesy for our veteran event.” Lahren then proceeded to carry on at length about the “tricks of the Left”, which her core audience has lapped up.
Now for once, there is actually photographic evidence to support Lahren’s claims; because as it happens, two men did crash a photo with her by kissing each other. And then posted the result on Instagram.
There’s just one problem: They’re not Shane and Ryland.
Tonight we got kicked out of an event for “offending @tomilahren”. 2 dudes, not a couple, just friends – who offended @tomilahren by making physical contact. THIS is Trumps America, THIS is why we fight, THIS is unacceptable. A man and a woman, 2 men or 2 women – it’s all love, intimacy is not illegal and it is absolutely not wrong. @tomilahren you are an abhorrent human being, we were at a party as the GUESTS of a war veteran who risked his life for this country. The fact that physical contact offends you is disgusting, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. But you won’t be. That is “SAD!” to quote @POTUS
Actor Rich Barnes orchestrated the stunt with his friend (not even boyfriend) before also being removed from the event; and sharing the photo across his own social media.
“We were at a party as the GUESTS of a war veteran who risked his life for this country,” Rich claims in his Instagram post. “The fact that physical contact offends you is disgusting.”
Tomi Lahren has since blocked Rich on Instagram.
Lahren probably knows by now, by having Shane and Ryland thrown out, that she got the wrong guys; but the fact that they were still removed as well as Rich and his friend, means one of two possible things:
- Someone mixed up a genuine same-sex couple with two other guys and chucked them out anyway, which is pretty bad.
- All guests exhibiting LGBTQ+ behaviour were kicked out by default after the stunt, which is even worse.
And all of this combined with the vague Facebook post suggests Lahren knows exactly what she’s doing by implicating Shane. Stay classy, Tomi.
