Can you remember back in 2014 when the whole Internet went batsh*t crazy over playing Pokemon via chat commends with millions of other people? Yeah, for those of you who didn’t know, that actually happened. And now it’s such a big deal that it’s getting it’s own homepage on the Twitch site!
When “Twitch Plays Pokemon” went viral nearly two years ago, it simultaneously created a new type of video game which allows thousands of players to partake in the same video game, at the same time using their keyboards and some strange algorithm to determine game commands. (Honestly, it’s super complicated)
Since this incredible feat in modern technology, the gameplay styles of “Twitch Plays” have continued to grow in popularity with the more recent Demons’ Souls (seen above) taking over too many hours of my time. I couldn’t play it by myself, so Lord knows how the Internet completed it as a team…
Based on the unfaltering popularity of these streams, Twitch has now dedicated all “Twitch Plays” videos to their own landing page, making it easier to find the games you want to join it and start tapping away instructions to a bunch of pixels!
If you want to join in the next round of “Twitch Plays Pokemon”, cancel all your plans on Valentine’s Day as it officially launches February 14th!
