Vine 2 Will Be More Inclusive Thanks To This Small But Important New Feature

Vine 2 is really shaping up nicely
Vine 2 creator Dom Hofmann seems to be on a bit of a roll. As well as announcing that Vine 2 will not only exist but will be deliberately kept free from the kind of toxicity that has thoroughly ruined other social media sites, he has now announced that the app will address the user's pronoun preference:
adding gender pronouns as a top level profile feature to everything i work on moving forward. if you’re working on these types of services and and are following me here, please consider doing the same— dom hofmann (@dhof) January 18, 2018
Why is this a big deal?
This is a big deal for many reasons. First, it shows a certain respect by Dom for his users, which is always nice. Second, although it is a very simple feature, it is one that almost no social media sites or apps actually have. This means that although it is only a small feature to include, it is nonetheless trailblazing in its implementation.
If you still don't get what the fuss is all about, Dom has an answer for you:
if you’re feeling bad about this, it doesn’t affect you. you’ll spend somewhere between 0-2 seconds on it and move on and (we hope) love the rest of what we’re building for you. nbd. this is for my peers who are working on these services. it’s a sea change and we need embrace it— dom hofmann (@dhof) January 18, 2018
