This little easter egg coded into YouTube’s content is proof that we aren’t quite done with the fidget spinner trend just yet.

So it’s been a while since YouTube teased us with a fun little Easter egg on their site; probably because they have a lot of ongoing issues and bugs to resolve first. But that hasn’t stopped Google’s cheeky little development team from hiding an onsite reference reference to the hottest, freshest new trend: the fidget spinner.

Yes, there’s a secret fidget spinner on YouTube.

To see, it you need just two things:

  1. A video about fidget spinners.
  2. A slightly bad internet connection.

Because this little Easter egg is exclusive to videos about fidget spinners; and it only appears when you’re struggling to load a video you’d probably rather not be watching anyway. That’s right; your favourite little buffering wheel has been replaced with – get this – a fidget spinner. THOSE MADMEN.

In case your internet speed is too good, here’s what it looks like.

And that’s it.

We’re definitely glad that people are catching onto this now that fidget spinners are practically dead; but at least the folks at YouTube are having some fun. Meanwhile, here’s a fidget spinner video for your enjoyment, where you might catch a glimpse of this incredible use of company time.

Also, have you heard? We have a new book!

‘Vlogging 101: The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a YouTuber’ is coming out on 10th August; and is available for preorder now. So find out more in the video below!
