Guts. Blood. Gory. Isn’t that everything you ask for in a YouTube channel? Jokes aside, we came across Australian Freakmo (AKA Kiana Jones) recently and we can’t get enough of her special FX tutorials that will have you in awe/keep you up for days with fear.
Kiana isn’t your average beauty vlogger, she has a PhD in visual art and is a self taught make-up artist specialising in “stimulated injury” and gore. From brush reviews to making moulds, creating bruises and all our spectacular creations, Kiana has built up a spectacular collection of videos which have literally left us speechless.
We’ve winced and cringed through rather a lot of Freakmo’s bloody videos and we’re now bringing you our five favourites which will help you pull out all the stops this Halloween.
PS/ If you’re even a tad bit squeamish, you probably shouldn’t watch these videos.
How To Become A Zombie
Like all of Freakmo’s tutorials, there’s a lot of work goes into recreating the look. But when the result is this impressive, you won’t care. Forget cheap zombie masks and go all out in the most gruesome way possible, complete with prosthetic latex zombie mouth.
If you’re a fan of the video game, The Last of Us, you’ll appreciate this tutorial to no end. But even if you’re not, you’ll be wowed. This tutorial is basically a sculpture which you stick on your face. If you can make something that looks even remotely like this then we salute you.
Ripped Mouth Tutorial
In recent years, the ripped mouth make-up look has become a Halloween classic. Rather than just whacking a load of red paint in a triangle on your face and gluing a zip to your nose, make some serious effort and try this look out. This tutorial kind of requires you to paper maché your face but if you’re OK with that then we suggest you go for it.
Severed Fingers Tutorial
The most popular video on the Freakmo channel is the severed fingers tutorial which has a 18 million views to date. If you’re keen to pull an epic prank this Halloween, get some finger moulds, gelatine, paint and a knife and you’re sorted!
If you’re not already subscribed to Freakmo, you can do so here. Know of any other special FX channels you think we need to know about? Leave us a comment below.
