Logan Paul Vlog Featuring Real Suicide Victim's Body Generates Huge Backlash
2 January 2018, 01:51
Logan featured the real body in both the video and the thumbnail
Please note: this article contains details that some readers may find disturbing. (TW: suicide).
Update: Logan has now deleted the video.
Logan Paul is facing a massive backlash after filming the real body of a person who had recently committed suicide in the infamous 'suicide forest' in Japan. We have made a point of not linking to the video, nor have we included any images of the body.
Logan filmed the body as part of a vlog he was filming in the forest. He also included an image of the deceased person in the thumbnail of his video. The thumbnail shows a partially censored image of the body next to his own shocked face. Although the body is censored, it can still clearly be seen in the thumbnail.
YouTube has not, at the time of writing, restricted the video in any way, despite the graphic content. It is not known at this time who the deceased person is.
Viewers are stunned and outraged
did Logan Paul just fucking record a dead person who committed suicide in the suicide forest in Japan for a fucking video? the level of disrespect is beyond me— ً (@ButeraDemetria) January 2, 2018
Logan Paul films himself screeching like a baboon in Japan's 'suicide forest', then finds a dead body of a hung man, films it, and starts being 'profound' complete with dramatic music. States: "this marks a moment in YouTube history" like he's proud.— Alizee 👌🏻 (@AlizeeYeezy) January 1, 2018
Great start to YouTube 2018.
YouTubers are also protesting the video
As somebody who lives in Japan, has Japanese family and has filmed a video in the suicide forest, the amount of disrespect Logan Paul showed in his video is honestly sickening.— Joey (@TheAn1meMan) January 2, 2018
No amount of demonetizing or "like if you feel sad" can excuse what he did.
Really disappointing :(
Logan Paul actually recorded a person who committed suicide in his vlog. What kind of fucked up mentality do you need to have to do something like that?! There is absolutely no defending it— Jacksepticeye (@Jack_Septic_Eye) January 2, 2018
that logan paul video where he films the body of a person who committed suicide that same day is deadass the worst most un-self aware shit i ever seen in my life— nathan zed 🥀 (@NathanZed) January 2, 2018
Logan Paul is a disgusting human being. The amount of disrespect shown in his new video is baffling and the fact that he’s getting away with it shocks me even more. How has youtube not taken his video down. Fuck you, dude. To show someones dead body on camera is just wrong.— CrankGameplays (@CrankGameplays) January 2, 2018
Ah fuck it, just shut YouTube down. It’s for the best. Time to wrap this up.— Thomas "TomSka" Ridgewell (@thetomska) January 2, 2018
fucking gross.— jacksfilms (@jacksfilms) January 2, 2018
Pretty messed up that Logan Paul had to point out this was “YouTube History”.— Dean Dobbs (@DeanDobbs) January 1, 2018
It’s almost like this man gets off on being the first to things. Biggest meet up ever? Dead body hanging from a tree? It’s all the same apparently.
PSA: suicide is a very serious and sensitive subject and definitely not a topic that should be disrespectfully used for shock value to get views on a youtube video, especially when millions of very young viewers will see it. ALSO ESPECIALLY filming the body???— Ricky Dillon (@RickyPDillon) January 2, 2018
