By now, it’s not entirely surprising to see one of our YouTube faves on a magazine cover, getting all up in our ears on radio or even taking part in an advertising campaign. But what does blow our wonderful minds is when they appear on TV shows and we freak the hell out.
Of course, we’ve been inspired to write this having seen the awesome Louise Pentland on BBC quiz show Celebrity Mastermind. But did you know a whole bunch of your favourite YouTubers have been on your screen? Here’s a list of some of the best…
Jimbob is making quite the name for himself as a host which is why ITV2 enlisted him to work on their quiz show Viral Tap. Featuring celebrity guests and panelists including Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby and Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, the show ran throughout 2014 and we’re still hoping they bring it back for a second series.
Around six years ago, Beckii stared in her very own documentary for the BBC. Schoolgirl Superstar At 14 documented Beckii’s journey from posting a simple dance routine on YouTube to becoming incredibly famous and an idol in Japan.
Sprinkle of Glitter
Like we said, Louise featured in a charity version of Mastermind. If you’re not familiar with the show, contestants answer both general knowledge questions and questions about their specialist subject (Louise’s was the Harry Potter novels). Despite coming last, Louise was amazing on the show and we’re seriously hoping she’ll bag a part on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Zoe Sugg on GBBO
Here in the UK, the Great British Bake Off is as important to us as tea, The Queen and the price of Freddos. Basically, it’s life. When Zoe took to the charity version of the show alongside Jonathan Ross, Abbey Clancy and Gok Wan, she failed to impress Queen Mary Berry but knocked the socks off us.
Tyler Oakley, Jenna Marbles and Kandee Johnson
Tyler, Kandee and Jenna joined James Cordon on the Late Late Show last year in a special YouTube edition. Our favourite moment? When Kandee did James’ make-up and turned him into a living, breathing Barbie doll. Slay.
Of course, there’s a bunch more so let us know your favourite TV appearances in the comments below.
