We the Unicorns

By Hollie-Anne Brooks

Bring on the glitter!

For us, one of the best things about the festive season is all the parties. From fancy brunches with friends to less-than-civilised nights out which end up in McDonalds at 3am. We live for our busy schedule and tired eyes!

And if there's one thing that's just as good as a tipsy kiss under the mistletoe, it's getting ready. False lashes, glowy highlighter and enough glitter to shake a stick at. Christmas is a time for excess and glamour and we love it!

Thankfully, a whole host of our favourite YouTubers provide us with beauty tutorials to help us werk it like a pro. But if you're unsure which red lip tutorial to follow or how to get glitter brows (#Christmas) then we've got it covered. Curated by Unicorns' beauty obsessive, here are the beauty tutorials you need this festive season.

The Classic Red Lip

Of course, we have to kick things off with Pixiwoo. As much as we try, we'll never be able to wing out our eyeliner like Nic has done but we can give the red lip a good go. An absolute classic, the red lip really comes into a life of its own at Christmas. Daring enough to wear it during the day? Keep your eyes and base simple and use a great lipliner to keep things in place.

Candy Cane Eyes

If you're the type of person who is always covered in glitter, you'll be used to upping your game come Christmas. And what better way than adding a bunch of bright green glitter and topping it off with some painted on candy canes? It's what eyelids were invented for, after all...

The Valentine's Make-Up

We haven't gone mad- we know Val Day isn't for another couple of months. But Zoella's vintage inspired drugstore tutorial is gorgeous and perfect for any special occasion. Zoe uses our favourite lipstick- Kate Moss 107 by Rimmel- as the main focus point of this look. And if you're not a fan of a bold lip, swap it out for a peachy nude to really show off the winged liner and highlighted skin.

The Smokey Eye

An absolute classic all year round, Jackie Aine takes the traditional smokey eye a step further with purple and silver tones. Think this looks difficult? Think again! The eye look only required one shadow, a cream shadow blended over the lid with your finger and black eyeliner. Easy!

Glitter Brows

Look, we think they're kinda odd too. But, thanks in part to Halsey, they're set to be 2016's biggest beauty trend. Get ahead so you can be all like "Glitter brows are SOOOOO 2015".

The Chocolate Cherry Look

Sultry browns, deep berries and undertones of cranberry shades are at the core of Lisa Eldridge's classy Christmas look. Don't be afraid of warm red tones on the eyes- they suit nearly all skin tones. Want to get this eye look without using half a dozen products? We adore MAC's Cranberry shadow for an all over wash of colour.

The Natural Look

Not a fan of piling on make-up? But still want to look perfect for party season? Tanya Burr takes us through her favourite natural look for this time of year. A little pink shimmer on the eyes and a touch of bronzer keep this tutorial perfect for both the office/school and the bar.

The Grinch Tutorial

Who says all make-up has to be "pretty". Marc Zapata - AKA The Prince of Vanity - has been one of our faves for the last few years and his transformations are mind-blowing. Not a festive fan? This is the tutorial for you!
