It's Halloween season and YouTube has been filled with every kind of make-up and special FX tutorial imaginable. Whether you're keen to just add some whiskers as a nod to Dan and Phil, want to go all out horrifying with some open wounds or want to keep it girly and sweet like Princess Peach, there's something on YouTube for everyone.

But how easy are these tutorials for the average person? The Trippy Double Vision Makeup Look has been one of 2015's biggest viral success stories with nearly 10 million views. The video, by Dope 2111, made headline news around the world and certainly grabbed our attention.

So we decided to give it a go.

Just like our Zoella hair tutorial, things didn't quite go to plan...

Here's how we got on.

First off, this is how we normally look albeit with crap false lashes on this time

The first part of the look was all about the brows

Same, yeah?

But then we got to the eyes and realise we totally deserved that D in GCSE Art...

Go on, Dope 2111, rub salt into our wounds...

But, for the sake of being paid  our readers, we powered through and stuck false lashes to our cheeks. Because YouTube.

Ł2.14 a pair from Superdrug, FYI.

And this point we felt like we could give Dope 2111 a run for her money. Also, furry cheeks feel goooooood.

But, like a good racehorse, we fell at the last hurdle. Obviously we were channeling Miranda Sings.

But let's be real... IT LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME!

We're proud of ourselves tbh.

So how do we rate it?

Ease: 2/10. OMG this is SO much harder than it looks. Don't even get us started on the nose...

Reality or fantasy: Because most of us aren't make-up artists, we're going to have to say fantasy.

Will we go viral: For all the wrong reasons, sure.
