We the Unicorns

T'is the season to look amazing...

The Holiday season is seriously upon us- Thanksgiving is out of the way and Christmas feels so close it almost hurts. The invites are seriously stacking up and if it's not a catch-up lunch with the family then it's seeing old school friends down the pub or hitting the dance floor with your colleagues. Whilst we agree it's the most wonderful time of the year, it's also the busiest time of the year and we've hardly had a moment to think about what we're going to wear and how we're going to do our holiday makeup.

Luckily for you, we're on hand with some serious holiday makeup inspiration. From minimalist glowing skin and length lashes to full on glitter and a bold red lip, we hope the tutorials we've curated will make sure you finally bag that kiss under the mistletoe!

No makeup makeup

Not all of us like putting on a full face- we just want to even out any redness on our skin and add a slightly glossy lip. Minimal makeup is perfect if you're not used to wearing a lot but do want to make an effort. A lot of minimal makeup tutorials on YouTube include a ton of highlight and a bold lip which, despite the fact we like to think of ourselves as beauty pros, certainly isn't minimal to use.

We love this glowy tutorial by Holly Chastain which features a light base, tidy brows and a gorgeous lip butter from NYX.

Simple Gold Eye

Christmas is all about the gold eyeshadow- a colour that suits all skintones. Whether you go for full on shimmer and glitter or just a light wash across the lid, use KathleenLights' tutorial as your go-to for an easy party look.

Sparkling Silver

If gold isn't your thing, go for a cool toned silver look. Layer on the glitter and perfect the look with a matte nude lip and a pair of blacker-than-black false lashes.

Emerald Green Smokey Eye

Nothing says holiday makeup like beautiful emerald and green tones and we're currently obsessed with creating the perfect emerald statement eyeshadow look. If you've got brown or green eyes, emeral tones will really make them pop. If this look is a little too bold for you, tame the contour and highlight and just stick with a moisturising lip balm on the lips.

Very Berry

If you're more into putting the focus on your lips, now is the time for a bold berry lip. Take this look down even further for maximum impact by skipping the liner and layering on the mascara.

Full On Glam

If you're the type of person that can't go without a strong contour, some serious highlighter, perfect brows and a bold lip then enter the ultimate holiday beauty tutorial by DestinyLashae. To get this flawless festive lip shade, Destiny mixes MAC's classic Ruby Woo with a drugstore hidden gem, Divine Wine by Maybelline.

Glitter Eyes and Purple Lips

If you're not afraid to experiment with colour and want to make a real statement, take inspiration from NikkieTutorials who looks amazing with this glittler double cut crease and bright purple lip. They key to this look is matte skin, adding just a slight highlight so that the eye and lips really pop. Be warned, though, a purple lip can make your teeth look a little yellow so opt for a good whitening toothpaste and mouth wash in the run up to wearing this makeup look.

Naked 3 Tutorial

Urban Decay's Naked palettes are pretty iconic, and for good reason. The highlight pigmented shadows offer everything you need to create a multitude of beautiful looks. In this video, From Head To Toe uses the Naked 3 which is a more pink toned palette. Add a red lip and you've got one gorgeous look perfect for Christmas day.

Zoella Holiday Makeup Look

Finally, we couldn't finish this list without a tutorial by Zoella. Zoe is probably the World's Biggest Fan of Christmas and we love the holiday looks she creates. It took us a little while to pick our ultimate favourite tutorial by Zoe but we reckon this red lip from 2015 is timeless.
