Looking for some ideas on how to refresh your social media?
Instagram is probably one of the most interesting social platforms there is. Because its whole premise is to share visually appealing photos - that you might or might not have put a lot of work into - for people to scroll past on their feed. So it's safe to say that it takes a little bit of extra work to really stand out!
Not to worry though; because we've got some really simple tips to help you not only get the most out of the platform, but hopefully give your following a little boost, too.
Check out our Instagram tips below...
1) Make a project out of it.
The best way to keep up something is to turn it into a project - and this applies to Instagram just as much. If you have a plan in mind for how you want your Insta to look, it will make it a lot easier to keep up - and like most social media, consistency is key.
Is posting regularly your weakness? Challenge yourself to post a photo a day. Can't think of what to post? Jump on a themed week. Ultimately, the more you post, the more doing so will come naturally to you - and you'll eventually start to find your own style.
2) Try a theme?
A lot of creators harp on about "sticking to their theme" on Instagram; and unless you regularly visit people's profiles, you might not realise what they're on about. But for some folks, it helps in their inspiration to maintain a very specific aesthetic - plus, it does make their profile very nice to look at.

Themes can be a combination of anything from colour, to positioning, to a specific use of filters, to the actual subject matter you use (and yes, selfies count). So if there are any recent photos you've taken that you're particularly proud of, try emulating them in everything else you share, for a theme you and your followers will love.
3) Be genuine!
However far you get with your Instagram and your following, there's nothing that will make you burn out quicker than trying to keep up a facade. People eventually get in trouble for excessive photoshopping or lack of transparency in product placements, after all.
Sure, the folks that embellish the details of their photos seem to be the ones that get ahead; but if you work on your profile knowing that you're putting your true self forward, you'll feel a lot better for it in the long run. Plus, as your audience grows, authenticity and honesty will become parts of your "brand"; and that's totally in right now.
