We've all bloody been there!

Periods- they're always just a little bit awkward. From trying to hide sanitary pads in your shopping basket to those awful leaks, we've all been there. Whether you've just got your first period or you've had more than you care to remember, rarely does a month go by without some seriously cringe moments.

However, thanks to YouTube, we can relish in hearing stories of other people who have been in exactly the same boat.

Australian YouTuber Jess Bauer has collaborated with a feminine hygiene company to help normalise periods - both the gross side and the funny side. In the video Jess talks about the time she got her period whilst sat on a white chair- we're pretty sure you can imagine what happened next.

The video has received a ton of comments from people sharing their own horror stories- including getting their period at the age of 11 in front of their entire family and some tales of nervous boyfriends and tampons! We love how one of the most natural things in the world is finally being spoken about more openly and with less fear of ridicule and shame.

Inspired by Laura's videos, we've had a scroll through YouTube to find period stories that we can all relate to.

We also want to give a special mention to this video by Grace Victory where she showcases what she's like on her period- and trust us, you'll totally see yourself in this video.

We're proud that YouTubers and vloggers are talking and opening up about an issue we all find embarrassing and difficult at times - especially in our teen years and when we're at school. Once again, YouTube is proving that you can always find someone else who's going through the same things you are.

Feel free to leave your period horror stories below and let us know which YouTubers you've found useful for period hack videos.

Have you seen our latest video? We won't lie, it's really rather good.
