We the Unicorns

By Liam Dryden

At WTU, we want to help bring you the best of YouTube every week, without digging through the endless void that is the 400 hours of video uploaded every minute.

This list is the beginning of a weekly feature to highlight our favourite videos from each genre on YouTube from the past week; videos you might have missed to help you get through the weekend. Enjoy!

Ava Gordy - What Really Happened (ft. Meghan Tonjes and Soundlyawake)

There's always some form of drama happening within the YouTuber community; and when it does, you're likely to see a lot of vague vlogs and subtweets about it that don't actually reveal anything. This 6-min effort from Ava, Meghan and Nicola is exactly one of those videos - except it genuinely is about nothing. But by the time you catch on, you just want to watch all the way through to see how long they can keep it up without breaking.

Pentatonix - Can't Sleep Love

Homegrown a capella superstars Pentatonix are drumming up a lot of noise for their upcoming first original album, and single "Can't Sleep Love", which came out earlier this week, is a gorgeous preview that proves the quintet are more than just a cool cover band.

Melanie Murphy - The Dairy-Free Struggle!

Cutting something as massive as dairy from your diet can feel almost impossible - especially without the right guidance! Luckily Irish YouTuber Melanie Murphy is going through the same struggle, but has some advice for alternatives to share with you.

Canadian travel vlogger Nadine never seems to stop, and this week she shares her adventures from the Czech Republic. Visiting the university town of Brno, Nadine explores castles, breweries, and the real-life fairytale town of ?eský Krumlov.

ViviannaDoesMakeup - My Beauty Storage Tour

When you have as many beauty products as Vivianna, you need some serious storage to avoid losing anything or getting mixed up. Vivianna takes you through all the bags and boxes where she keeps her stash; including the gorgeous and massive chest of drawers that's giving us some serious #goals.

SciShow - What Causes Pins & Needles?

Pins and needles has driven us all up the wall at some point; so wouldn't you like to know where they come from? Hank delivers the breakdown on yet another super-interesting episode of SciShow.

Yoann Hervo - Weird Simpsons VHS

You're probably pretty familiar with the opening sequence of The Simpsons - but not like this, you're not. Yoann Hervo's surreal animation in honour of the show's 25th anniversary this year has picked up a little bit of viral success  as people find themselves back in the "weird bit of YouTube".

MichellePhan - Fun DIY Projects For Pets!

Everybody wants to do something nice and unique for their pets, and DIY queen Michelle Phan is here to give you some inspiration. In just 7 minutes Michelle shows you how to make a custom collar, scratch post, and plenty of other awesome accessories for your four-legged pals.

TheDiamondMinecart - 100 MARIO CHALLENGE

Nintendo fans have been getting more than their money's worth out of Super Mario Maker since its release earlier this month, but Dan of TheDiamondMinecart has tried out a new challenge: 100 lives, 8 random user-built levels, no rules. This is a great chance to see all the completely random things you can do with this game; and some of the levels Dan finds himself in are pretty hilarious, too.
