Why Do We Need Diversity? YouTubers Answer
16 August 2016, 11:59
As you all probably know, Summer in the City 2016 happened this weekend and it was all of the fun. But despite the endless meet and greets and overwhelming happiness, there were some pretty heavy debates going on down in the panel rooms which highlighted a lot of major issues going on in the world of YouTube.
We've already spoken about what happened when our favourite YouTubers got together and taught us how to deal with trolls, but this time we're sharing what we learnt from Nathan Zed, Suli Breaks, Scola Dondo, Eman Kellam and Jana Dam at the Diversity panel on Sunday.

WHY DO WE NEED DIVERSITY?
NATHAN ZED: "All we see are statistics on the news. Representation is very important to show how to world really is a diverse place."
SCOLA DONDO: "You get to see so many different types of people. I feel like it's so important to share your culture."
SULI BREAKS: "Diversity enriches any culture. We all relate to people we can identify with."
JANA DAM: "I think it’s important for us to relate to each other so that we can actually feel like we’re all human."
The panel also touched on whether we will be seeing a new generation of minorities on YouTube to which Eman replied "They watch it but they don't think it's for them." Eman
goes on to tell us how important it is to push for diversity with Suli explaining "We're not all the same, but we should be treated equally."
