It's amazing how far some people will go for views
15-year-old influencer Danielle Cohn has been criticised after apparently faking both a pregnancy and a wedding just to get YouTube views.
The former Musical.ly star, who has over 3.5 million Instagram followers, pretended to get married to her 16-year-old boyfriend, fellow YouTuber Mikey Tua. In a video on his channel, the pair also claimed that Danielle is pregnant, which appeared to be confirmed by a photo Danielle posted on Instagram, which showed Tua kissing her stomach.
"Anyone under the age of 16 needs a court order authorizing a marriage license to be issued. According to online court records for Las Vegas, no marriage license has been issued for Cohn or Tua."
Danielle's mother told Buzzfeed that the wedding was “done for a stunt". She added that:
“It was a YouTube video like most YouTube people do for clickbait. She committed to her best friend in Vegas... legally they can’t get married. [They] are YouTubers [who] did something... they made a promise.”
However, she did not directly comment on whether Danielle is actually pregnant, so who knows what's going on there.
The YouTuber's latest video cryptically says '2/4' so there's two more videos to go, where we may learn exactly what the hell is going on. But that hasn't stopped fans from already freaking out.
