Go Team Internet!
They're two of the biggest stars in the worls and adored by millions of fans across the globe but YouTuber Alfie Deyes and One Direction's Niall Horan recently bonded on Twitter over something rather surprising. If famous folk have anything in common, it's the fact they're always in demand and often face the horrible side of fame. So when Alfie reached out to Niall to comfort him over some fairly horrific trolling, we weren't surprised.
We noticed Niall's tweets earlier this week when he took to the social media platform to hit out against some apparent "fans" who has got hold of his mobile number and harassed him to the point that he'd simply had enough. The Irish One Direction star reassured fans he was happy and safe but wanted to make people aware about what was going on in his life.
For the last two weeks I've been receiving messages off a group of fans, they have drowned my phone in messages, keeping me awake at night— Niall Horan (@NiallOfficial) May 24, 2016
But the worst part is. They have been nothing but abusive . Saying things you wouldn't even believe about me and my family— Niall Horan (@NiallOfficial) May 24, 2016
And saying the worst things ever about my little nephew. Thank god I'm not the kind of person who thinks into stuff like this— Niall Horan (@NiallOfficial) May 24, 2016
But I just think it's crazy how we let people away with things like this— Niall Horan (@NiallOfficial) May 24, 2016
And the sad thing is . As I tweet this they are in the group chat laughing at me .— Niall Horan (@NiallOfficial) May 24, 2016
Don't worry about me .im the most carefree , laid back person around. But I'm just signalling it, because this shite is happening to others— Niall Horan (@NiallOfficial) May 24, 2016
It doesn't surprise us that Alfie tweeted back after all the drama that he has faced to do with privacy in his own home. You'll no doubt recall that Alfie and girlfriend Zoe Sugg have had endless issues with apparent fans turning up to their Brighton home after their address was leaked to the public. Most recently, Alfie hit back on social media when fans continued to turn up at their home despite asking them not to.... One fan even went so far as to "sunbathe" on the pavement outside their home just so she could get an autograph.
In response to Niall's drama, Alfie tweeted: "Love that you're speaking up about this man! I see lots of similar things happening & it needs to stop x". Alfie is no doubt refferring to the countless trolling he faces online and the drama his fellow YouTubers face, including the time Gabriella Lindley had her mobile phone number leaked.
Alfie wasn't the only one to tweet support to Niall, fellow Irish citizen Melanie Murphy also showed her support:
aw Niall :( x— Melanie Murphy (@melaniietweets) May 25, 2016
As of yet, Niall hasn't responded to Alfie's tweet but we're sure he appreciates the sentiment!
