We're so proud of Miles!
It's always a proud moment for us when a YouTuber publicly embraces their identity, and shares it with their fans. This "Coming Out" video from AmandasChronicles is no exception; as they, in an exciting and energetic new video, have just revealed they are now identifying as non-binary.
In the new video titled "SO IM TRANS*", the newly-named Miles talks about their experiences with gender as a child, and the ways in which they've struggled with the gender binary for many years. Now, after embracing the identity of trans non-binary and choosing a new name, Miles admits "I feel the most me I have since I was a child."
"You have all the power in your life - you can choose to be happy, you can choose to be sad. You can choose to be you."
Watch the video below.
Miles' channel has always centred around "coming out" and LGBTQ+ themes, but this is an exciting new chapter of their life. Now all that remains to be seen is what they'll do with their old channel name now that "AmandasChronicles" doesn't really apply.
"Amanda is a name that I've never felt super-comfy with", admits Miles. "Also, what a cruel name for someone like me! 'A-man-duh'?!"
Since posting the video last night, Miles has received an outpouring of support from their fans and friends in the YouTube community; giving us all the warm and fuzzies in the process.
Just silently in my bed crying and smiling from all your messages. Thank you.— MILES (@TheMilesMcKenna) January 31, 2017
