It just goes to show how helpful YouTube can be

Cara Brookins, a single mother of four, built her family an entire house despite having no previous building experience. How the heck did she do it? By using YouTube tutorials. That's right, using only beginners construction videos (and building materials, duh), she managed to single-handedly build a home for five people. Badass.

Now this is where the story gets even more inspiring. Not only did she build the house, she also did it in only nine months due to the terms of a construction loan she took out to make the project possible. She also finished the house while working also a full time job. Unreal.

Cara had to find a new home after she left behind an abusive relationship, which just goes to show that if you have enough determination you can achieve anything, no matter how incredible the odds. She has now written a memoir of her experience, called Rise, which comes out on the 24th of January.
