Boogie2988 just had some major surgery - but no amount of recovery time or painkillers can stop him from posting a quick update for his fans.

There aren't a lot of YouTubers who would be back on camera just a few days after major surgery; but Boogie2988 isn't most YouTubers. The vlogger and gamer recently posted a recovery update, just days after having gastric bypass surgery.

In his update vlog - the only recent video he hasn't pre-recorded before the surgery - Boogie fills in his audience about the recovery process of the surgery; which involves alteration of his digestive system to limit his food intake. The decision is one he made in May, to hopefully begin what will be a slow but dramatic weight loss.

"The surgery went way better than I expected," he admits. "The doctor said I was an exemplary surgery".

Boogie goes on to talk about the pain he is experiencing and the expected recovery time, admitting that the painkillers he is taking limit his ability to create content.

"I definitely want to recover quickly because I wanna come back to you guys," confesses Boogie.

"I wanna play some games, I wanna make some videos and I wanna hang out."

Watch the update from Boogie2988 below.

With over 4 million subscribers, Boogie has been vlogging on the platform for over a decade; and frequently presents as a commentator on ongoing YouTube community developments. So it's no surprise that a lot of the community - even YouTube themselves - have sent him well-wishes.

Feel better soon, Boogie!
