BREAKING: YouTube Cancels 'Scare PewDiePie' Season 2 Amid Anti-Semitism Controversy

It follows Felix being dropped by Maker studios for controversial comments and jokes he made in his videos

Following on the heels of Disney dropping PewDiePie from their Maker brand following a series of controversial jokes he made on his channel, YouTube has announced that it has cancelled season 2 of 'Scare PewDiePie', one of its flagship YouTube Red shows.


In a statement on Tuesday, a YouTube spokesperson said, “We’ve decided to cancel the release of ‘Scare PewDiePie’ season 2 and we’re removing the PewDiePie channel from Google Preferred.” Google Preferred is a YouTube advertising program designed to sell popular “brand-safe content” on YouTube. The removal PewDiePie from this service in particular indicates a lack of confidence in PewDiePie by the platform, or at least in his ability to be deemed 'safe' by brands to advertise with.
