Casey Neistat has started to reveal the new video projects that he is developing as part of a deal with American news giant CNN
A little while back Vlogging King Casey 'I own more cameras than Canon' Neistat had signed a $25 million deal with American news corporation CNN to provide 'bleeding-edge' content. Well now the first details have emerged of what exactly this collaboration is going to look like.
Casey is developing all kinds of shiny new news delivery formats featuring livestreams from around world, but the newly planned content stream that is likely to attract the most attention from his fans is his new daily show. The thing is - these new daily videos are going to be quite different from the daily vlogs for which he is widely known. He is going to be joining other hosts and journalists to provide cutting-edge video-based news coverage.
Casey's new venture is aimed quite squarely at combating the rise of misinformation and 'Fake News' that was propagated throughout 2016 (and before).
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Casey said that he wants to present news that: "penetrates the thick, strong, solid-steel bullsh-t shield that this generation cautiously holds up in between them and everything being thrown at them." Fiery stuff.
Casey also says that he wants to make news 'digestible'. The venture is still apparently in the planning stages now, so we'll have to wait to see precisely what form this new 'all-video' approach to news is going to take. But hey, if it means more Casey in our sub box, we're on board.
