Big love to Cherry for her amazing win!
Another YouTuber has won an incredible award! With Joe Sugg being nominated for Children's Book of the Year and the Pentatonix were awarded a Grammy for 'Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Capella', 2016 has kicked off big time for social media stars. And now, thanks to Nickelodeon, the UK has a brand new Breakthrough Vlogger - Cherry Wallis!
Cherry, a 25 year-old vlogger from Birmingham, started making her videos four years ago with her channel's videos ranging "from beauty, special effects makeup, comedy, cooking and vlogs". She was nominated alongside other up-and-coming British YouTubers Raphael Gomes, Jazzybum, Chai Cameron, Connie Glynn and Sam King but came out on top thanks to her fans voting like crazy on Twitter and via the official Nickelodeon website.
As one of the newer categories introduced to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, Cherry Wallis is now recognised by the mainstream media as a creator making huge waves of influence within the YouTube community. And it almost certainly means that Cherry has a busy year ahead of her as she meets her brand new fans and ups her content game.
Cherry shouted her excitement and disbelief on Twitter when the awards were announced on March 13th to overwhelmingly positive feedback from her fans and other YouTube creators. We've curated a bunch of our favourite messages below to keep the happy vibes rolling. Well done Cherry, we can't wait to see what else you have coming up! (P.S. We want to see the next episode of Hogwarts Houses!)

Oh, and if Cherry Wallis being crowned the UK's Breakthrough Vlogger wasn't already the most exciting thing in the world, then how about watching a YouTuber getting slimed live on stage? Throughout the show, viewers were asked to vote which person, Bethany Mota or Cameron Dallas, should be covered head-to-toe in Nickelodeon's iconic slime. And it came as no great surprise that Cameron was elected by his legion of followers - even Taylor Caniff jumped in and joined him! You can see the magical moment below.
