It's absolutely breathtaking.
In case you couldn't already tell, we're mega huge fans of Dodie Clark and her music on this website, so how do you imagine we felt when we found out she had released her very first music video! As the lead single from her new EP, Intertwined, Sick of Losing Soulmates now has an official music video sitting on Dodie's new Vevo channel, but something else makes it even better...
Directed by Sammy Paul and starring the acting talents of both Dottie James and Joshua Edwards, the music video was entirely funded thanks to fans of Dodie's over on Patreon - the site in which people can donate a certain amount of money to help financially support artists on a month-to-month basis. Thanks to them, Dodie now has her first professional music video without the need to be signed to a record label.
You can see the beautiful effects following such an amazing fan-funded project in the video above - and we can guarantee we'll be watching this music video every single for the next few months. It's perfect. On Twitter, she reached out to all her paying supporters with a message; "Also, damn the music world is expensive without a label. Thank you so much to my patreons who made the music vid possible!". Were you one of the lucky supporting fans?
Oh, and don't think Dodie's new Vevo channel has gone to her head and changed everyone's favourite YouTuber - she's still as Dodie Clark as ever and actually spent this weekend celebrating with cats on the floor of a house party. You go girl, live your truth.
