Facebook Notifications May Be Coming To Instagram

*aggressive, exhausted sigh*
Instagram is such a cool and popular app that it's easy to forget that it is owned by Facebook, a lame and unpopular app that accidentally reveals millions of people's private data. And yet it is so, and because Zuck 'N Tha Gang find themselves at the helm of both the best and worst social media apps, you better believe they're going to try and Goldilocks the two of them together until they're both juuuuuust average enough.
Case in point, you may no longer have to go to Facebook app to be bothered by incessant Facebook notifications ('a guy you haven't spoken to in five years is considering maybe going to an event that isn't near you' - thanks Facebook!!), because those notifications will sit inside Instagram.
The feature is currently being tested, with a small number of users suddenly having a big obnoxious notification badge added to the existing Facebook button on your Instagram profile page. An Instagram spokesperson confirmed to Mashable that the test was taking place, but had no information about if and when it would launch to all users.
