The boys are making big moves next year!
YouTube Red has finally opened its eyes to the greatest creators on their platform. With a second season of Joey Graceffa's heart-stopping murder mystery coming soon and an entire series with The Rock as the main character, is there any way the subscription service could get better? Oh wait, there is, because they just announced that Game Grumps would be getting their own show too!
Pairing up with the creative genius behind Community and Rick & Morty, Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan will be pairing up with Dan Harmon to create a brand new comedy series all about the phenomenon of eSports. The show will centre around a brand new team of professional video game players planning on making it into the big leagues of competitive gaming with all the goofs and pitfalls that happen along the way.
Whilst there is no official trailer or release date yet (or a name ffs!!), the six-episode comedy series has been slated for release in 2017, with its official debut taking place on the Game Grumps channel to an audience of over 4 million people. Over on Twitter, Arin celebrated the announcement by tweeting out that the show also includes actress and eSports host Michelle Morrow and fellow YouTuber Jesse Cox.
Susanne Daniels, the global head of content for YouTube, had this to say about all the brand new YouTube Red announcements: "Our goal is to be uniquely YouTube. And our thesis is simple: Identify YouTube's most engaging stars and top genres, and invest in the content that fans tell us they want. In other words, let our community drive our content". Congrats folks, you asked for Game Grumps content, and now you're getting it!
