Another massive win for YouTubers!
Another day, another unbelievable achievement for the YouTube community as superstars Pentatonix swept up the ultimate award for musicians; the Grammy award for "Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella". As well as prizes, YouTubers also walked the red carpet and sang duets with world famous performers. They basically dominated the Grammys in 2016.
Officially scoring their second Grammy win, Pentatonix won the award for the "Best A Cappella" group following their newest song/music video, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. However, whilst their award victory was monumental for not only their career but for YouTube musicians around the world, it was their humble tribute to recently passed Earth, Wind and Fire founder Maurice White that took everybody's breath away.
Performed with music legend Stevie Wonder, the impromptu peformance was reportedly put together at the last minute, as the group sang "That's The Way Of The World" to a standing ovation.
It wasn't just Pentatonix leaving their mark on the 2016 Grammys though, as Tyler Oakley worked the red carpet by landing massive interviews for CBS plus recent Academy member Connor Franta and a whole host of other Internet personalities turned up looking fierce as hell.
The sheer amount of visible YouTubers, Viners and musicians present to represent the digital community was so moving for audiences sat at home used to seeing them in their subscription boxes. In fact, one particular YouTuber had a massive moment at the Grammys in which an ad break featured a spot for her popular YouTube Red debut; Lilly Singh and A Trip To Unicorn Island!
The whole ceremony was constantly live-tweeted and blogged across the planet, but below are some of our YouTube community highlights!
