Do not try this at home, kids.
We must admit, attempting to assemble any kind of flat-pack furniture always seems like the impossible, but these couples are now building IKEA furniture - while on drugs - in the name of a new web series called 'HIKEA'.
We've seen some pretty weird things in our time on the Internet, from vloggers bathing in nettles to learning how to curl your hair with balloons; but this newest addition is the definition of WTF. The channel, which officially launched three days ago, is hilariously named 'Hikea Productions' and its first video has already seen almost 700,000 views. The channel's debut instalment saw couple Giancarlo and Nicole attempt to build a set of drawers whilst on LSD and it took the pair just under four hours to complete the task.
The web series was created by New York copywriters, Hunter Fine and Alex Taylor, and they found their participants after putting an ad on Craigslist. However, just two days after the channel was launched, the video sharing platform removed one of the HIKEA videos due to its policy on "harmful or dangerous content". YouTube prohibits "videos that we consider to encourage dangerous or illegal activities including hard drug use, or other acts where serious injury may result."
The video that was removed saw a participant called Keith attempt to build a dressing table whilst on "magic mushrooms", but Hikea Productions soon re-uploaded the second instalment of their web series with a new disclaimer in their description. It read: "Disclaimer, because first upload was removed: Drugs are bad, don't do drugs. Please be over 18 to watch this video."
According to the creators, the web series will continue to see new couples attempt to build different IKEA furniture whilst under the influence of "LSD or magic mushrooms". As always, let us know what you think about HIKEA in the comments and make sure to check out our latest instalment of SLAY or NAY to catch up with all of this weeks YouTube news.
