Instagram have launched a brand new campaign to help combat stigma towards mental health.

Instagram have used Mental Health Awareness Month to launch a brand new campaign; also dedicated to ending mental health stigma. #HereForYou is the site's way of celebrating and encouraging conversation around mental health; and features some high profile names including filmmaker Elyse Fox, who started @SadGirlsClubpbg on the platform.

The photo-sharing platform is often criticised for fuelling anxiety and giving us a filter-perfect look at life; So it's hard to argue the move comes at a poignant time. But not only that, it shows how seriously the Facebook-owned social media site is taking the issue.

As well as using influencers to help spread the conversation about mental health, Instagram have also released a powerful video which can be viewed here. A series of hashtags, offering support and outreach such as #SelfLoveClub, #RecoveryIsPossible and #EDWarrior are shown at end of the video.

"Every day people use Instagram to share their mental health journeys and connect with communities of support." Reads the website. "We are inspired by these voices".
