How the YouTube community is reacting to Las Vegas

By Josh Lee

In the early hours of this morning (U.K. time), a gunman opened fire on concert goers with a semi-automatic weapon in Las Vegas, killing at least 50 people and injuring over 200 more. The perpetrator of the attack - which has been deemed the deadliest mass shooting in American history - has died. It is believed that the attacker, named Stephen Paddock  killed himself before people were able to apprehend him. The shooting has been described as an act of terror by many, although a number of news organisations and commentators have refused to use that term.

The YouTube community came together in the aftermath to offer their condolences - and in some cases demand change.

Team 10 leader Jake Paul offered his thoughts to everyone caught up in the attack, while Zoella described the attack as "awful." Calling the attack "terrorism," Lilly Singh criticised President Donald Trump's reaction to the attack, which she said was "outrageous yet predictable."

Other YouTuber's demanded more action: Riley Dennis tweeted that guns should be banned in the wake of the attack, while Akilah Hughes implored the US government to "do something about our national gun problem."

Some YouTubers simply shared their love for the famous city

Shane Dawson called Las Vegas his "favourite place in the entire world," while Elijah Daniel described it as "the fucking best". "I'm so sorry this happened to you," he added.
