People are now spreading the message to #BoycottMarinaJoyce
Marina Joyce has sparked a thousand conspiracy theories including a kidnap by ISIS. However, in a dramatic turn of events, Marina Joyce finally admitted the truth in a live stream to thousands of viewers. The YouTuber- who has amassed over 1.3 million subscribers- sparked a global frenzy when #SaveMarinaJoyce began trending.
A video, called "Date Outfit Ideas", saw the fashion vlogger acting strange and appearing to whisper "help me" 12 seconds into the video.
Now, the truth has finally been revealed and it's safe to say everyone is pretty furious. Marina Joyce has in fact confirmed that the entire situation was a publicity stunt.
In a YouNow live stream, Marina Joyce claims: "This was a publicity stunt by my viewers". Seemingly the publicity stunt worked and Marina now has millions of views on her channel with her infamous "Date Outfit Ideas" having over 16 million views to date.
Of course, it hasn't gone down well at all with people on social media who are seriously furious that a publicity stunt caused such mass concern. Since the admission on her live stream, #BoycottMarinaJoyce has seen a flood of people encouraging others to stop watching Marina's videos.
#boycottmarinajoyce not bc we were wrong but bc she liked tweets to lead us on for her own gain and only shut it down when she reached 1mil— tori (@torisuzan) July 28, 2016
As well as the live stream, Marina also did an interview with fellow YouTuber Phillip DeFranco where she exclusively revealed exactly how she got the bruises on her arm and responds to accusations she has a drug problem.
"I just realised how concerned everybody was for me and it just made me so happy how happy everyone was concerned for me. And I'm almost going to hit 1 million probably" Marina says in the opening of the video with James [sic].
Marina also admits she went to see her manager on the day the #SaveMarinaJoyce story broke: "Now I have to be smart in every move I make because I'm only used to having 600,000 subscribers which is quite a lot but not to have so many people paying so much attention to everything I do".
Marina then goes on to explain how she got the bruises: "I went to the forest once and then, like, I stacked over something and I got really badly bruised". Marina admitted this to Phillip DeFranco despite chatting in an earlier live stream where she kept repeatedly saying she couldn't talk about how she got the bruises because "something really bad" had happened.
Marina also admits in the video the reason she's changed is because she's been on a "spiritual quest" and that it had "scared people off".
Ultimately, it's safe to say the Internet is more confuse than ever- some are upset and angry whilst others are worried about Marina and refuse to believe she's OK. Either way, Marina is now sticking by the claim that the entire thing was a publicity stunt and has so far not apologies for the concern she caused to people around the world.
